Jailing and Commands

The list of commands are as follows:

/jail - There are 7 options when using this command:

  • member - @user being jailed

  • reason - reason for jail mandatory

  • Sentence_length - 1d, 2d, etc.. (This should never exceed 48 hours)

  • custom_minutes - seldom use

  • custom_hours - seldom use

  • custom_days - use to increase to 48 hours

  • custom_weeks - seldom use

  • custom_months - seldom use

Anything over the 48 hour period should be a temp-ban and not a jail. Keeping users in our jail will not only take up channel space (which is limted by Discord) but it will not IP block the user allowing them to more easily join with an alt account.

  • annonymous_jailer - seldom use (hides the jailer from the jail inmate)

  • create_dispute_ticket - This should ALWAYS be set. If you forget, the jail inmate can manually create a jail dispute:

  • I understand mistakes happen, but when you jail someone be pro-active and create the dispute ticket for them. (again the only reason we jail is to communicate with the jail inmate while they are isolated from the server). If you fail to create the ticket, there is no way to retroactively create a ticket and no way to inform the user you wish to talk with them.

  • Syntax should be /jail member:@jailinmateusername reason:testing sentence_length:Custom custom_days:2 create_dispute_ticket:True

/release - release inmate from jail

  • /release @inmateusername

/jail-history - shows history of jail inmates

  • There is definitely some frequent flyers when it comes to needing jailed. Prior to jailing a member, first look to see if this is the first time, or if they are a repeat offender.

  • This is not set in stone, but a loose policy is 3 strikes you are out.
