Junior Broker Guidelines & Risk Assessment Protocols

Steps to take when performing a trade:

  1. Confirm both parties are present in the ticket and are able to proceed with the agreed upon broker deal

  2. *DO NOT USE THE #Transaction Channel (used for unbrokered trades only by members with a high enough rank) Highly discourage these trades

  3. Create a new VC by using the #Staff Help/Broker Hub - Join to Create channel.

  4. In the Broker Request, ask the 2 members to join the General VC

  5. Right click and add both members to your VC or simply drag and drop them from the General VC to your private channel. Do not do trades in a VC that other members can freely join

  6. As a broker, you are responsible for holding onto the funds until all transactions are complete.

  7. See detailed steps for Item trades vs. Services/Base agreements.

Item trade and protocol

When a user requests an item trade (E.g. Skelly for Money or Skelly for Elytra, etc...) *Screenshare Optional but highly encouraged for your protection. Failure to screenshare will likely result in a scam ticket being opened against you*

  • Begin the trade only AFTER you have confirmed both players are online.

  1. Ask the buyer to send the TOTAL agreed upon amount to initiate the broker deal.

  2. Ask the seller to drop the items being sold. Collect the items.

  3. RTP (Do not ask the seller to TP away because they could have set home and return be for the deal ends.)

  4. Once you are in a safe location (use common sense. Make sure your mob spawning is turned off and you are not in a location that exposes you to dying. As a broker, you are responsible for the items until they have been handed over. If any loss of items are the result of your lack of judgement, you may be asked to replace or pay for lost items.

  5. Send the Buyer a TPAHERE request. Double check it is the Buyer and not the Seller you are sending request to.

13a. Once the Buyer has accepted the request, drop him the itmes for extra safety, bring a container like a chest or barrel to prevent region maintenance or session timeouts from causing loss of items

13b. If the agreement consists of Item for Item trades, Use an Ender Chest. DO NOT TPAHERE A BUYER UNLESS YOU ALREADY HAVE THEIR TRADE ITEMS IN YOUR ENDER CHEST. You are the broker, you NEVER go first. Drop the Buyer's purchased items and then RTP. Again, do not conduct the trade in the same area. Collect the items from the buyer out of your Ender Chest and send the Seller a TPAHERE and complete the transaction. Cost of Ender Chests may be deducted from the the cost of the trade if you do not have any availalbe

  1. Once you have confirmed the buyer has received the items, you may release the funds to the seller Keep in mind that there is 3% fee for all trades. Send 2% of the overall trade to daddycd3. This is an alt account and will be used as a Scam bank in the event of an error on our part. The remaining 1% is yours to keep. Do not give discounts. Make both the buyer and seller determine who is responsible for the 3% prior to beginning any trade.

Examples:

  • Seller pays fee: 10 Skellys are being sold for a total of 10M. Buyer pays you 10M. You pay daddycd3 200k, you pay the seller 9.7M, and you keep 100k.

  • Buyer pays fee: 10 Skellys are being sold for a total of 10M. Buyer pays you 10.3M. You pay daddycd3 200k, you pay the seller 10M, and you keep 100k

  • Buyer/Seller Split fees: 10 Skellys are being sold for a total of 10M. Buyer pays you 10.15M. You pay daddycd3 200k, you pay the seller 9.85M, and you keep 100k.

  • Calculating item costs: Look at fair market value on AH. If the deal involves an item sold on AH, calculate the fee based on the lowest available auction price.

  • Calculating item costs: Look at fair market value for Spawners if items are not available on AH. E.g. Spawner for Spawner of different type. Check the Discord for the cheapest spawners. (If it is skellys, this is usually 950k - 1m)

I. Base/Service Pre-Trade Protocol: Mandatory Safety Checks

Pre-screen questions - /brokerquestions

If yes to 1-4. mark the trade as High Risk and proceed with extreme caution (or end the trade)

If yes to quetsion 5:

  • Log into DonutSMP (if you are not already there)

  • Use /team info IGN (This should be part of your routine regardless of their answer)

If the user answered question 5 "No, I am not on a team" and you find out they are, immediately mark trade as High Risk

If the user answered question 5 "Yes, I am on a team" and the team mate is also in the broker ticket, you may proceed with Medium risk at your discretion.

Assigning a Risk Level to each trade and use the corresponding disclaimer.

LOW RISK - /lowrisk

Example: Small item trades, skeleton spawners, seller has no team or exposure history.

MEDIUM RISK - /mediumrisk

Example: Base sales where the seller is in a team or has limited prior exposure of the base. (All base sales should be set to medium at minimum)

HIGH RISK - /highrisk

Example: Base has been TP’d to, shown in screenshots/streams, or the seller is part of a known group/team with questionable history.

  • Begin the trade only AFTER you have confirmed both players are online.

  1. First, require the seller to send you the funds to initate the trade. As always, confirm the agreed upon amount prior to starting the trade and inform the buyer/seller of the 3% fee. If the buyer is also paying with items or exclusively with items, collect the items before proceeding.

  2. If base is being purchase with an item(s), follow the same protocol as set forth in the item trade above. **Use an E-Chest**

  3. Once the buyer sends you the funds, have the seller TP you to their base.

  4. Do NOT leave the Base until the trade is complete - Have the seller screenshare and ask for the following:

  • Have them TP to their Team Home (If they have one.)

  • Have them TP to the home your are currently in, and then have them delete that home while screensharing.

  • Ask them to TP away. (Confirm the home is still deleted and be vigilant to watch for them setting an additional home.)

  • Have the seller TP to each additional home they have set.

  • For additional security share your screen (Make sure you do not have coords showing) and ask the buyer if there is anything they would like you to check. (As soon as you TP them to the base, it is theirs. So, and non-working farms must be identified before they enter the base)

  1. Once you are satisfied with the seller no longer having access to the base, you have checked the base and confirmed the buyer wishes to proceed, you can send the Buyer a TPAHERE request DO NOT SEND A TPA REQUEST (Once the seller deletes the home, you are the only way the buyer will have access to the base. You will be responsible for lost bases if you mess this up.)

  2. Ask the buyer to share their screen. Confirm that they have set home before leaving the base.

  3. Once you have confirmed the buyer has set home, RTP away.

  4. Pay the seller the funds minus the 3% commission fee. (If the sale was made with items, send the seller a TPAHERE request and drop the itmes. For questions about item trades or commissions, see item trade section above)

III. Broker Checklist (Use Every Time)

● Verify both users (Discord & in-game). ● Run /team info on both parties. ● Ask TP/screen share exposure questions. ● Assign and record a risk level. ● Copy and send the appropriate disclaimer. ● Confirm all trade terms (item amounts, base prices, etc.). ● Only proceed when both parties confirm they’re ready. ● Log the trade in the designated broker log channel.
